Why Camp is Fun?

Last year’s campers learned from special guest coaches, won tickets to Baseball Games, The Zoo, trophies and plaques. Campers also ate food from local businesses like A Pizza and More. Players learned how to disect film and critique their own play. Each player was given a report card with a two on one coaches meeting on specific areas they are strong in and areas they can grow in.

Philosophy

Camp Philosophy - The basketball camp’s goal is to help each young lady improve their individual

Basketball skills and knowledge. All facets of the game will be taught, with time provided each

day for individual instruction and game play. Primary skills taught during the camp include passing, ball handling, shooting and defensive concepts. Campers will also learn about team offense, team defense and game play.

Why Girls-Only Camp?

Most camps which include boys and girls, use men’s basketballs. These balls are heavier, larger and they cause young ladies to push the ball rather than shoot the ball. This can adversely affect a player’s ability to shoot properly. We have baskets and ball sizes for all ages and abilities. Using the appropriate basket height and ball is best way to encourage quality shooting habits among young players. We coach girls based on ASEP research specifically for girls because we are girls coaches who believe that strong female athletes make strong female adults.
